Time for that NYC annual event, Summer Restaurant Week. An extended week long period where you can dine on low end, inferior meals at high end restaurants for a discounted price. Cynical, well a bit. OK, not all of the more than 200 restaurants are serving up dumbed down versions of their typically haute cuisine but gourmand beware, some specials are well, not so special. You can log on to find which eateries are participating and whether it’s for lunch, dinner or both. I’ve found the lunch options to be better quality and better value and if you want to if it’s worth the trouble to book a reservation you can check the websiteto find out exactly what’s on the featured menu. And remember, spam and foie gras are more than 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon separation.
