Lots of great theater discounts from both TKTS and Broadway Box so I decided to take a break from Netflix and see some live performances. Pulling on the coattails of my sister I got discount tickets for “Time Stands Still” at TKTS. She saw it when it opened and raved and I love Laura Linney. It also stars Alicia Silverstone and I try to support all the other Alicias who pronounce our name correctly. The play was really good, well written, original and contemporary. The foursome rounded out by Brian d’Arcy James and Eric Bogosian was strong with good chemistry and Bogosian was pitch perfect. My sister and her girlfriend took advantage of a half off offer at Broadway Box and went to see "Mr. and Mrs. Fitch". I’m boycotting because of the near 25 year age difference between main characters played by John Lithgow and Jennifer Ehle. And their review was tepid. But we all agreed on our pre-theater restaurant and give Marseille the full five stars. We picked it because it was halfway between our 2 theaters and were also doing restaurant week. We were pleasantly surprised with the attentive service and outstanding menu including the restaurant week option which matched the high standards of the regular menu. Yummmm!!!! And they have a regular prix fixe so I’ll definitely be a repeat customer.
