Not having kids, I had no idea that Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs was a very popular children’s book, but my breeder friends raved calling it a family favorite. Sorry not in the loop but a movie about how to make it rain food to order seemed a delicious fare so I put it in my Netflix queue. Personally I’d start with morning shower of foie gras followed by a lobster thunderstorm topped off with evening dulce de leche ice cream cloudburst. That just me, but the residents of Shallow Falls has their own special food weather requests. That’s the basic plot of the movie, about how an outcast inventor creates a food/weather device which even in the best-case scenario seems festive but kinda wrong. And of course things do go wrong because people are gluttons and tons of rotten uneaten food is nasty. The animation is fun and colorful and the characters are very engaging but it’s still a movie more for kids, albeit one those adults wouldn’t mind sitting through.
