Latin America is hands down one of the absolute best travel destinations. The natural beauty is incomparable, including rainforests, fincas, and sugar sand beaches. Add in delicious food, welcoming locals and rock bottom prices for lodging and expenses and you’ll see why people become addicted to travel in that hemisphere. Last weekend’s NY Times Travel section was devoted to travel in Latin America and had some great tips and itineraries on how to maximize your time and your dollar. Surf the online supplement and find the best way to fill 36 hours in Rio, Lima’s hidden ateliers and the addictive and decedent ice cream in Buenos Aires. I know about the latter first hand. On my trip there last year, my three food groups were dulce de leche ice cream, red meat and empanadas. Or why not come up with your own version of Eat Pray Love for Argentina?
